Australia makes Pakistani Student “Math Ambassador”
Pak student wins gold in World Mathematics Competition
Pakistan's Math Wizard Moosa Firoz has been made “Math Ambassador” by the Government of Sydney, Australia.
Moosa, 13-year old Pakistani student from Phalia District a far-flung area of Punjab, secured the first position in an online World Mathematics Competition held in Australia.
He reserved the first spot among 1.4 million students across the world.
As his voice gives a disappointing tone over indifference by Pakistan government, Moosa said he was expecting a warm welcome on his return from Australia.
Moosa was awarded gold medal in Australia recently. He secured 4405 points and got the first place while another Pakistani student Hasnain got second position in the competition with 4303 points in 11-13 years age category.
In a category of age 14-18 years, the country’s another student named Osama secured second place with 3318 points.
Math Wizard said that he has been trying to win world math competition since 2009. “I have also clinched 5th spot in 2011.”
Moosa’s father Dr. Khaliq Dad Tararr expressed his joy over his son’s performance.
“I am proud of my son who has made Pakistan’s name across the world with his untiring efforts and hard work.”

ISLAMABAD: A 13-year old student, Moosa Fairoz has secured the first position in an online World Mathematics Competition (WMC) held in Australia. Fairoz, a resident of Phalian, Punjab, was awarded a gold medal in Australia recently. Fairoz secured 4,405 point and got the first place while another Pakistani student Hasnain secured second position in the competition with 4,303 points in the 11-13 years category. In the category of age 14-18 years, another student from Pakistan, Osama, secured second place with 3,318 points. About 1.57 million students from all over the world participated in the competition.
Whiz kid vows to win World Mathematics Competition again
Math is a difficult subject often shunned by children, but a 13 year old boy from Punjab, Moosa Feroz surpassed 1.5 million children from across the globe and came first in the Online World Mathematics Competition held in Australia.
Moosa took the 50-minute online exam, scoring 4405 points, becoming the math champion of the world.
“I will participate every year and will try to win a position again. Now I have become an ambassador of Pakistan and will play my part in spreading more awareness about this competition.” Said Moosa.
Parents and teachers were proud when Moosa, a student of the Beaconhouse School System won the gold medal, which was awarded by the governor of New South Wales, Marie Bashir.
